Join Me on June 15, 2019 for the Schuyler Sisters BookSlam

April 27, 2019

One of my favorite events for I, Eliza Hamilton was the Schuyler Sisters Book Slam that took place last summer at the Schuyler Mansion in Albany, NY. Beautifully restored, the Mansion (known as The Pastures in the 18thc) was Eliza’s childhood home, and where she married Alexander Hamilton.

To my delight, the Mansion has decided to hold the BookSlam again this year, expanding it to a day-long event on Saturday, June 15,2019, from 10:00 am-6:30 pm. There will be book talks, readings and signings, a young writers workshop, and tours of the mansion. I’ll be there again, and joining me for a Schuyler Sisters discussion and reading will be L.M. Elliott, author of the YA historical novel Hamilton and Peggy: A Revolutionary Friendship. Also on the schedule is Margaret McNamara, who will be reading from her picture book, Eliza: The Story of Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton. If you’re a fan of Hamilton, a history lover, a reader, or an aspiring young writer, I hope you’ll come join us, too.

For more information and the day’s schedule, please see the Schuyler Mansion’s Facebook page.

Read more about Eliza Schuyler and Alexander Hamilton in my latest historical novel, I, Eliza Hamilton, now available everywhere. The Schuyler Mansion also appears (along with Eliza and Alexander) in my new historical novel, The Secret Wife of Aaron Burr, now available everywhere, in stores and online. Order here.
